We respect all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the Nation, and make conscious decisions that help establish positive pathways and futures.
As a company, we at Integra Nursing Care commit to the procurement of goods and services being through First Nations owned and led business where possible.
We have worked with local artist Taleena Simon, a Worimi and Bundjalung woman, to create a design that represents Integra Nursing Care. We are working with Yilay, an Aboriginal owned and operated company, to incorporate this design into uniforms which we are privileged to wear.
Taleena Simon is a proud Worimi and Bundjalung woman born and raised in the Redfern area. From a young age, she was introduced to art through her father, Jim Simon, a well-known artist in the local Redfern community. Inspired by her father’s work, Taleena developed a passion for creating artwork that celebrates her identity and culture. Taleena creates art that shares stories of empowerment, cultural significance, and strength. She has collaborated with various clients to bring these stories to life.
In addition to her artistic talents, Taleena is an accomplished athlete. She has represented New South Wales in the Harvey Norman State of Origin, her culture in the Indigenous All Stars team, and the Sydney Roosters in the NRLW competition. Taleena also played Rugby Union at an elite level, representing Australia in Women’s Rugby Sevens. Her dual achievements in both art and sports highlight her exceptional versatility and dedication. We are so fortunate to have had Taleena create this stunning design for Integra Nursing Care and meaning of the artwork is so significant to us, it is our core purpose.
This artwork represents Integra – caring for people, travelling to different communities and healing those in need within their own homes.
The large circle is Integra Nursing Care, with our workforce on either side each with a digging stick, representative of a woman.
The smaller circles represent community, its people and their homes – with the lines showing paths travelled to get to these communities.
The background shows the healing spreading out across all of the communities, houses and people Integra Nursing Care travels to and services.
